Located 3 km north of Shanhaiguan, the JiaoHill is the after rang of Mount Yanshan. The highest peak-Dapingding is 519 m above sea level. The giant rocs on the peak are high an steep. Looking like a dragon with horns an its head. That is why it is named as Jiaoshan Hill(horned hill in chinese). The Jiaoshan Hill is the first high peak that the Great Wall crosses over. So it also has its name ‘the first hill of the Great Wall’ Qixian Monastery (Distin-guished Personages Staying Monatstery)on the hill side was once a place for the scholars and noble and graceful persons such as XiaoXian an ZhanRong etc. to read study and live seclusion,In the Monastery are Guanyin Hall facing the sea , Gandi Shrine (guan yu shrine), Huanthou Memorialhall (Marquis Zhang fei Miemorial Hall) and Three Distinguished personsges Memorial Hall etc.
